-- it is a domesticated species of South American camelid. Alpacas were a treasure of Incan civilization and was located on the high Andean Plateau and mountains of South America. They eat grasses. The lifespan of alpaca is about 20 years and the heights are about 36", weighing 100 and 200lbs.
